Illustration projects

Milliken Tractionback

Client: American owned Milliken Group is the world's largest privately owned textile and chemicals company. Milliken commissioned bd2 to develop a direct mail campaign for a new carpet tile backing 'Tractionback' which provides various benefits to the end user specifically ease of installation as no glues are required resulting in a faster, and therefore cheaper, installation.

Solution: Development of illustration style to demonstrate product benefits and provide a practical guide to using the product. The project included the design and development of roll fold format leaflet housed in a DM pack with a small product sample [polypropylene wallet]. Produced in 4 languages. Management of all print production.

Bullen Healthcare Hi-Slip

Client: Based in Liverpool, the Bullen Healthcare Group was established in 1858 and supply a complete range of ostomy products. They offer a home delivery service providing stoma products and prescription appliances to Ileostomists, Colostomists and Urostomists throughout the UK.

We designed and produced a series of User Guide documents for their Hi Slip catheters including the development of a clear and literal visual style suitable for medical purposes leading to 2 series of 18 illustrations with male and female versions. The project included the design and production of 2 x16 page documents including print management.

Linda Regan Finance

Client: Regan and Hallworth Estate Agent and IFA business. Having designed this local Estate Agent's brand when they first started up over 10 years ago, we have worked on various projects over the years including an advertising campaign for the IFA business based on a series of illustrations.

Project: The development of a consistent illustration style across campaign to create continuity and a branded feel using corporate colourways. The use of illustration to convey conceptual messages. Characterisation of key people to create personalities. Used in various formats to maximise investment.

Milliken direct mail

Client: American owned Milliken Group is the world's largest privately owned textile and chemicals company. Milliken briefed bd2 to develop a series of Direct Mail pieces to extol the virtues of the products such as cushion backing, anti stain properties and ease of maintenance.

Project: development of a consistent illustration style and theme related to product benefits. We used various clichés such as 'walking on air', 'non-stick' and 'dish the dirt' to relate to these values and devised a series of vibrant illustrations to represent them. These were then produced as a series of 10 post cards mailed sequentially.

Garbo Fashion POS

Client: Garbo are a high fashion retailer based in Cheshire. We created a series of illustrations for in-store POS as part of a marketing campaign.

Project: development of the illustration style based on key colours and fabric motifs. Provision of large format graphics.

Private Commission

Client: private commission.

Project: The design and creation of illustrations for a wedding party invitation. The couple married in Santorini but organised a Greek themed party for those who couldn't go to the actual ceremony.
